If you have kids, you have crayons. And if you have crayons, you have a bunch of ground-down nubs of crayons. They’re old bits and pieces that the kids can barely grip. Throw them out? No way. As they say, when you get handed lemons, make lemonade.
So when the kids hand you those nubby crayons, make muffin pan crayons. It’s easy.
Here’s what you’ll need
Old crayons (bits and pieces)
Muffin pans
Muffin cup liners or “non-stick” spray
Peel crayons. (An easy way to peel is to soak the crayons in water.) Line/spray muffin pan. Put the crayon pieces in the muffin cups. (If you want to get fancy, buy some silicon molds in fun shapes. You can find them at Target or from Amazon.) Separate the crayons by colors for single color chunks. Mix colors for rainbow ones. Bake at 200 degrees until melted, about 20 minutes or so. Let the creation cool, then peel off the liners, if used. They can make cute Valentine’s Day gifts or party favors or just fun things to play with.
